Press Release: Sunwarrior Partners With St. George

Health Foods Giant Sunwarrior Announces Sponsorship of St. George Farmers’ Market

Collaboration Supports Local Farm Businesses, Company Reps Say

St. George, UT (August 7, 2018)– In keeping with its mission to nourish and transform the planet, international health foods leader Sunwarrior has announced a new collaboration with Downtown Farmers’ Market, St. George.

The highly popular local produce fair operates Saturday afternoons, May through October, in Ancestor Square.

As a global name with very personal roots (the company started with just two friends), Sunwarrior was excited by the idea of collaboration at the local level, company executives said.

Sunwarrior takes on its official sponsorship role this August.

“Sunwarrior’s roots are in nature,” said Denley Fowlke, co-founder, Sunwarrior. “We support our local farmers’ market and encourage others to support locally grown produce.”

Healthy Choices at the Local Level

The market offers produce, baked goods and more, grown by local, small farms and companies.

“Sunwarrior focuses on health-boosting superfoods, natural based snacks and supplements for those who seek a better, healthier lifestyle,” a company representative commented. “While Sunwarrior is international today, at one time we were a tiny store looking to make a change. That’s still our goal, but now we’re reaching out at a local level in support of smaller, sustainable growers.”

Growing a Smart Idea: Local Farming Has a Big Impact

With that in mind, the company agreed to sponsor Downtown Farmers’ Market, a highly touted event among its loyal following.

Small farms represent a surprisingly large portion of the farming market. In fact, according to the USDA, small farms make up 41% of all commercial growers in the U.S.

And while that number has had its ups and downs, “Currently, we believe the number is on an upswing,” a Sunwarrior representative said.

That’s partly because today, farmers’ markets offer more than produce. “Today’s changing walkable market includes a host of different items, so families can experience total health from the inside out,” a Sunwarrior spokesperson pointed out.

Today’s Consumers Seek a Healthier, More Natural Alternative

Sunwarrior has delivered whole foods-based items since 2008. Starting from a small, brick-and-mortar storefront, the company today offers protein bars, immunity support tinctures, vitamins and more.

But it all comes down to one factor: whole, natural ingredients, like those found at farmers’ markets.

“In today’s super-rushed lifestyle, what people tend to neglect is themselves,” a spokesperson for Sunwarrior said. “Visiting, speaking with and buying from your local growers puts you in touch with not only your neighbors, but nature itself. Our sponsorship of Downtown Farmers’ Market has the goal of making the world healthier, one local choice at a time.”

About Sunwarrior: Since 2008, Sunwarrior has delivered vitamin, mineral and phytonutrient-rich foods and supplements to health-conscious clientele. Starting with just two collaborators, Sunwarrior has expanded to become a global presence but “still maintains its roots in the health and happiness of the health Warrior,” according to a spokesperson. The company is based in Washington, UT.
